Michael Oliver,       Ashfield FC Manager

In May 2022 after 4 successful years as Ashfield Manager, Paul Maxwell stepped down to concentrate on developing the Ashfield Academy Project & `Maxi`s` successor will be Michael Oliver, who has joined us following a successful period as Manager of Harestanes AFC. Michael is a UEFA Qualified Coach who has cultivated an impressive Portfolio of achievements at Amateur and elite Professional Academy level in Scotland. Michael has demonstrated a commitment to developing players and their progress from Academy rank into a First Team environment.

Michael`s own playing career spanned from 2011 to 2017 making over 60 appearances for Clyde FC in his first spell with the Club before injury. Michael also played with Cumbernauld Colts and East Stirling and has played under influential Managers such as Jim Duffy, Barry Ferguson and John Sludden. Michael will be supported by his Assistant Jamie Broadfoot who had a short spell with Ashfield a decade ago. We welcome Michael and Jamie to the `field in what will be an exciting new era for the Club.

Saracen Park, also known as the Peugeot Ashfield Stadium for sponsorship reasons was Ashfield`s home since 1937 & was based in North Glasgow. The Ground was sold in 2015 to Allied Vehicles Ltd where the `field then Ground-shared with the Glasgow Tigers Speedway Team. The Stadium had also previously been a venue for greyhound racing. Since December 2022 Ashfield switched their home games to the Stepford Football Centre, 1514 Edinburgh Road, Glasgow G33 4NU in Easterhouse where following Promotion to the West of Scotland League Division 1 Ashfield will now continue to play their home games for the coming Season (2023-2024). We hope you enjoy visiting the excellent facilities, including Catering, at Stepford where current & future development is planned.

Ashfield`s Player of the Year Dance was held on the 27th May 2023 at the Anniesland Bowling Club. A fantastic turn out saw Jonny Black awarded the Club Website Player of the Year for Season 2022-23. Well done Jonny ! The previous recipients of this award have been Ryan McManus for Season 2021-22,  Graeme Hearton for Season 2018-19, Paul Maxwell for Season 2017-18, Kyle Lochhead for Season 2016-17 and Michael Giblin for Season 2015-16. Special mention to the 2019-20 Season brought to a stop due to COVID19 where Centre Forward Callum Graham scored an amazing 42 Goals. A wonderful achievement - Callum is now plying his trade at Clydebank.
